About
I have worked in the music business since the age of 11 when I won the award of Young Musician of the Year, which gave me the opportunity to perform all over the UK, Europe, the Mediterranean and beyond.
At 15 I started my work experience in a local music store, Cookes Orchestral Supplies, which lead to me being employed with them on a full time bases after leaving school, and started my passion for repairing musical instruments as there was an in-house repair technician who was willing to train me on an ongoing apprenticeship. After a short period I was invited to take on the role of Shop manager. The company was taken over by an international company Music Sales in April 1991 where I became stock and quality controller for 56 branches nationwide, as well as managing my own store . During this time with Music Sales I introduced and maintained a musical instrument rental purchasing scheme nationally, and created workshops and seminars in my local area to encourage and inform musicians of all abilities in a wide range of interests from taking up their first musical instrument, performance techniques, right through to learning how to service and repair their own instruments.
